Project Information:   Having worked with Gail on her client's projects (see below), she asked me to overhaul the website for her book shepherding business. In addition to creating a new logo for her company, I rearchitected her site and created new pages from the ground up. This mockup represents an earlier design during the project, based on Gail's request for bold paint strokes being used in the design -- ultimately, the design went in a different direction, but I'm quite fond of this one.

Project Information:   This site for Hans Baer's book was targeted at an American audience to give additional information about Hans' life and the content of the book.

"When I started looking around for a web designer to design my client's website, there were very few author websites that impressed me. I stumbled upon Kate McMillan's work quite by accident and e-mailed her immediately. When we got to work, Kate never missed a beat. Her work is not only creative and beautiful, she is ever so responsive and kind, and a joy to work with. Kate is passionate about her work and it shows in the website she designed for author Hans Baer. She is a designer and a programmer, which also makes her a dream to work with. She never complained once about any of the changes we asked her to make. I am recommending Kate to everyone I know who wants a new website or a fresh start on an existing website. If I were a town crier I'd be making public announcements in the streets about Kate McMillan and her work."

Project Information:   After working on assets for Sherrilyn Kenyon's internet publicity in the past for other books (Dream Chaser, Fear the Darkness, Dream Hunter & Devil May Cry), I created a library of assets for her recent release, Acheron. Please note, some of the banner ads shown on this site were not created by me.

"I've worked with Kate on numerous projects to-date, and I can honestly say that she's one of the easiest designers to work with as well as one of the most talented. She really takes into account the design aesthetic without detracting from the back-end programming. Her ability to meet deadlines (sometimes very tight) is impeccable. Kate's professionalism and friendly correspondence make revisions and project updates a dream. If you're looking for that rare find of a technically-savvy programmer with designer's eye, look no further. Kate McMillan is your gal."

Project Information:   Working with the Macmillan Internet Marketing Department, I created the website for the book The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. The site was designed to act as a publicity tool, and a place for readers to learn more about the author and the content of the book.

"A highly competent and organized talent. Throughout project collaborations, Kate's introduced a perfect mélange of programming sensibility and product-specific designs. Often times, we'd propose a fairly obscure concept, which Kate then miraculously transforms words from an email into a working web object. There are no words to truly emote how much easier she's made the lives of us digital marketing coordinators."

Kate's enthusaism for her work, seemingly endless ideas and inspiring work ethic has made her an amazing designer to work with. Kate's aesthetic, accuracy and willingness to work on any issue that come up gives me the peace of mind that my website is in capable hands. I get a lot of compliments on my site and I like to say that it's Kate's work that makes my work look so good."
